A Dream Reader

Ideas on pursuing our individual dreams, not the dreams of others. Learning to hear our inner voice to guide us toward them while filtering out the noise of modern society’s dream pushers.

Hi,

I’ve been writing Just Rolling with It for almost 5 years now. It’s evolved as my own journey has. This current manifestation continues to focus on what I’ve been referring to as “The Dream”.

This is a topic that feels beneficial to continue exploring. I’m slowly beginning to think that writing a short book about The Dream is the next step.

To explore this idea further, I’ve developed a list of JRWI newsletter issues that have discussed The Dream.

I thought you might want to see the list too, so here it is -

The Tyranny of Thomas the Tank Engine

Leaving the Hustle Behind Again

Pushing the Dream for Generations

My Disaster Dream Chasing Dad Scenario

Does Our Dream Deserve Happiness?

The Dream Goes Global

The Dream is Always Just Out of Reach

A Dispatch from Dreamland

Pursuing Our Dreams, Not Theirs

The Dream Pushers are Pushing Hard

Who’s Dream Is It Anyway?

Is this Dream writing resonating with you? Why or why not?

Please let me know by replying directly to this email. I appreciate and reply to every response.

Catch you next week.

Semi-Random Thoughts

Today’s Labor Day in the United States. It feels to me there’s a connection between this holiday and The Dream. Here’s a short Labor Day history from the New York Times.

Workers before Labor Day became a holiday worked under terrible conditions, for long hours and low pay. Now we still work long hours. The conditions may be better, for white collar workers.

But are they really? Physically they might be better. But how about emotionally and psychologically? How about pay? Again for white collar workers, pay is higher, but how much of it is simply paid back to the dream pushers.

This is to say nothing about minimum wage workers in the US. For example, many of the workers in the building where I live often work 60+ hours a week and can barely afford to survive, not to even consider thriving.
